Creative minds are being sought to design and produce inspiring and innovative ways to help the public learn more about our upland blanket bogs.
We're looking for designers to come up with engaging ideas for a mobile exhibition (working title ‘Bogtastic Van’), and a series of Static Installations to be placed across the Peak District and South Pennines.
Tenders are invited now for this innovative project, as part of the Partnership’s programme of work to protect precious blanket bog in the uplands.
Since 2003, we've been working to conserve and protect moorland sites across the Peak District and South Pennines, stretching from Nidderdale to Kinder Scout, whilst undertaking important research to inform the future of sustainable care and management of the moors.

The Bogtastic Van and Static Installations will provide inspiration to people from all walks of life to understand, enjoy, and want to protect the unique habitat of blanket bog across the South Pennine Moors Special Area of Conservation (SAC – including areas of the Peak District National Park, Yorkshire, Cheshire, Staffordshire and Greater Manchester).
Chris Dean, Head of Programme Delivery, said: “The aim of the project is to increase understanding and value of the blanket bog habitat to local communities, especially people in towns and cities across the Peak District and South Pennines. It will boost awareness of the fragility of blanket bog and the vital services it provides including for wildlife, water and climate change, as well as helping people to understand what they can do to protect it.
“We want the Bogtastic Van and Installations to be engaging and lively, bringing blanket bog to life by creating an immersive experience. The Bogtastic Van will be used to engage with people across our patch, including at special events, schools and conferences – many people who visit our specialist vehicle may not have stepped on blanket bog before! Creative suppliers can let their imaginations run wild with thoughts of the sights, smells, sounds and feel of our beautiful uplands. The Installations will complement our Van in-line with design and branding. We look forward to receiving tenders with striking, stimulating and state-of-the-art ideas!”
