This photography post gives views of an area of moorland where Moors for the Future Partnership has planted sphagnum under the Severn Trent-funded Moor Water project. Sphagnum can soak up to 20 times its weight in water, so it slows the flow of water from the moors, helps to clean the water that ends up in our reservoirs, and creates fresh layers of peat.
Your photos help to monitor change as the years go by. This tiny plant grows slowly, in and around existing vegetation, so it may be a while before changes become apparent visibly.
